10 Years of Exploration

Ten years ago, Maison Mangostan began with a simple idea: to create something joyful.

Not by following trends or formulas, but by following curiosity.

The story we often tell starts on a tiny island somewhere off the coast of Spain. A place filled with unexpected colours, unusual creatures and endless inspiration. Whether that island truly exists or only reveals itself to those willing to look closely is still up for debate.

What matters is what it represents.

For the past ten years, exploration has been at the heart of everything we do.

Every collection begins the same way: with a question, a place, a story waiting to be discovered. Sometimes it takes us to tropical islands, sometimes to faraway landscapes, and sometimes simply to a new way of looking at the world around us.

But before there were collections, there were shoes.

Maison Mangostan was founded by Carmen, the daughter of craftsmen and shoemakers, who grew up surrounded by materials, tools and the quiet dedication that goes into making something by hand. Creativity and craftsmanship were part of everyday life, long before Maison Mangostan even existed.

It was only natural that the brand's first adventure began with footwear.

What started as a small collection of children's shoes soon became something much bigger. Season after season, new prints, colours and stories found their way into the world of Maison Mangostan, always carrying with them the same appreciation for craftsmanship, detail and thoughtful design.

Along the way, our universe continued to grow.

Collections followed. New characters appeared. New destinations inspired us. Our community expanded far beyond the island where it all began. And this year, for the first time, we introduced Maison Mangostan Woman — a natural extension of the creative world we have been building for a decade.

Many things have changed since 2016.

But the things that matter most have stayed exactly the same.

Our love for colour.

Our passion for creating original prints.

Our belief that clothing should spark joy, inspire adventure and tell stories of their own.

Every print still begins as an idea. Every collection still starts with imagination. Every piece is still designed with the same sense of curiosity that first led us to discover the island all those years ago.

Looking back, ten years feels both long and impossibly short.

A decade of sketches, samples, collections, collaborations, challenges, surprises and countless lessons learned along the way.

And yet, it still feels like we are only just getting started.

Because exploration was never about reaching a destination.

It was about staying curious enough to keep discovering what comes next.

So today, we celebrate ten years of imagination, craftsmanship and colour.

Ten years of stories.

Ten years of exploration.

And most importantly, ten years shared with all of you.
